What is Eduspot?
Eduspot is a wireless network dedicated to students and researchers.
Opposed to Eduroam, it doesn't need any configuration of the device.
How to connect to Eduspot
Choose eduspot in the list of available wireless networks.
Depending on your device, a web browser may automatically open on the connection page. Otherwise, open a browser and try to connect to a web page, for instance http://dio.obspm.fr.
On the connection page, select your institution. You will be redirected to your institution's authentication page. Enter your credentials (for Observatoire de Paris users, those are your LDAP login, e.g. your e-mail login).
After successful authentication, network access is granted.
Filtering policy for Eduspot at the Observatoire de Paris
When connected to the Eduspot network at the Observatoire de Paris, the following filtering policy is applied:
everything is allowed in the output direction, except port TCP 25 (SMTP), to prevent spam emission
nothing is allowed in the input direction towards Eduspot, except return for established TCP sessions
an Edupot client is considered in the outside of the Observatoire de Paris network
Nevertheless, besides the traffic allowed from the Internet, the following (TCP) protocols are allowed from Eduspot to the Observatoire, if the target machine is accepting them:
