What is the guest network?
It is a way to get network access, wireless or wired, for external people during their short stay at Observatoire de Paris (meeting, short mission, etc.).
It doesn't need any configuration of the device.
How to get temporary credentials
Short-term guests have to ask credentials to the most natural point of contact: meeting chairman, the person who manage the meeting room, the head of the project or the IT team of the department.
The list of delegatees identifies all the persons having the right to create such temporary credentials.
How to connect to the guest network
First, you must have got credentials from your contact of the Observatoire de Paris.
Choose eduspot in the list of available wireless networks.
Depending on your device, a web browser may automatically open on the connection page. Otherwise, open a browser and try to connect to a web page, for instance http://dio.obspm.fr.
Click on the link Invité (Guest in French) and enter your credentials that you have got.
After successful authentication, networks access is granted.
Security concerns
In all cases, credentials are unique and strictly personal. It must not be communicated to anyone else. It must be used by only one person at a time. So, for a meeting, as many credentials as the number of people are needed.
Using such connexion implies to accept all the terms of the IT charter and is a commitment to respect these instructions.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that, by their very nature, laptops are often less secure and more prone to viruses, worms, spyware and peer to peer software than desktop computers. Owners are advised to pay particular attention to these issues, not to have a negative impact on the Observatoire de Paris's network or the Internet.
